Comment of the Month
This months’ Comment came to us over email. Kellie O. asked…
“I purchased a new vehicle (2024 Subaru Crosstrek) and I need to do regular maintenance in order to maintain the warranty. I’ve taken it to the dealer for the first two checkups but would love to keep it more local… I didn’t even think to check if y’all did this! I’m assuming y’all are a certified Subaru maintenance center? Would be awesome to not have to drive to Beaverton!”
Our reply could be useful for ANYONE WHO HAS BOUGHT A NEW CAR RECENTLY.
“Hi Kellie. I think we can make you happy on this. Maintenance can be carried out by any shop you choose (though it you got a free maintenance package from the Dealer you should take FULL advantage of it!) but any warranty repairs will have to go through them. Our Shop Manager is a Subaru Master Tech (and the rest of the staff is either ASE-Certified or ASE-Master-Certified) so you can feel good there. And next time you’re in, CHECK WITH ME FOR OUR FREE 2ND SET OF EYES. Often, even our best clients disappear for a couple years when they buy a new car and go to the Dealer for service. That’s not an accident, those free packages are huge marketing for the Dealer. They hope to get you in the habit of going to them and hope to keep you after the warranty expires. More nefariously, most (not all, but most) Dealers are NOT ALLOWED TO TELL YOU about pending problems that could be covered under the warranty, the customer has to bring it up themselves. Free oil changes keep evaluation in the Dealers house until the danger period of the warranty expires. Our 2nd Set of Eyes selfishly protects us by protecting you. Bring the card to us RIGHT BEFORE YOUR WARRANTY EXPIRES and we’ll do our Comprehensive Inspection for free to catch anything the Dealer might have ‘missed’ while you can still do something about it… and hopefully it will get you out of the Dealer habit and back to coming to us. If you have any questions the Service Advisors are the guys to ask. Anyway, would love to see you, and hate to think you have to drive to Beaverton!”
We have a couple ongoing offers you might find valuable…
Carbon Neutral Program–
Our company’s commitment to the environment led us to partner with Bonneville Environmental Foundation to create our Carbon Neutral Program in 2007. Client members offset the carbon production of their vehicles for one year AND save 10% on Labor Charges here at the shop! It’s a win for you AND our environment and it’s been very successful… since we instituted the program our members have prevented over 1.9 MILLION POUNDS of carbon from being dumped into our air!
Referral Reward Program–
Year after year, referrals from our existing clients are our greatest source of new clients, so we’ve tried hard to think of some way to appropriately reward people for their referrals. Our solution is our Referral Reward Program, where we make donations to the non-profit group of your choice to say ‘thanks’ for your generous referrals. Here’s how it works…
And just a couple other things to know…
Your reviews and referrals matter
We’re constantly grateful for the supportive and loyal clients we’ve developed over the years. Your comments and appreciation keep us on the right road to providing the superior automotive service you deserve. Your reviews and referrals are not only the highest compliments we can receive, but they’re the lifeblood of our new business. If you like what you’ve found at Tom Dwyer Automotive Services, please tell a friend or write a review on Yelp, Google, or the review site of your choice. Thank you!
Latest Automotive Recalls
Automobiles are just like any other product; occasional flaws in manufacture or design can cause problems once they leave the factory. When an issue is identified the manufacturers and government work hard to bring the vehicles back in for refit or repair, but not all recalls make the front pages. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration maintains a constantly updated list of recalls from every manufacturer.
